Hartstead’s December Spotlight: Roof Slating or Roof Skating?
Winter: the one time of year we briefly wish we chose a warmer career path, then feel the thrill of being on a frosty roof and remember this is what we’re built for.
Cold and dusty is good. It means we’re building the backdrop to your family lives. We love witnessing the transformation from crude napkin sketches and Pinterest boards, to your Christmas tree in the setting you’ve been dreaming of since your home was simply a photograph on Rightmove.
That transformation is rarely more rewarding than in December, when we often get to see your home doing what it does best: welcoming people in, ready for a season of memory-making.
Hartstead Homes: December In Review
In December, we were …
Mostly based in: Chester. It started with fitting a kitchen, then snowballed into word-of-mouth renovation requests from others in the area. We are so grateful to those of you who recommend us.
Mostly working on: Installing a kitchen, fitting skirting boards, painting, plumbing in a new bathroom and radiators - all in one home. We’re finishing a family home for a lovely couple and their dog.
Mostly planning: Extensions. After a period of garden rooms, garden rooms and more garden rooms, extensions became flavour of the month for the forseeable.
Proud of: Braving an icy rooftop to remove old (and re-fit new) slates - came down with frozen eyebrows and a perfect roof. Roof slating or roof skating? You decide.
Random act of kindness: Re-fitting a broken step at our child’s nursery.
